webfact Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Government's graft busting body seeks clarification from Thonglor police over Red Bull heir's caseBANGKOK: -- The Government Sector’s Anti-Corruption Commission has sought clarification from Thonglor police about why the fatal car accident case against the Red Bull heir, Voravudh Yoovidya, has been delayed.GSACC secretary-general Prayong Priyachit disclosed Thursday that he submitted a letter to Thonglor police station on Wednesday asking for an update of the case. The fatal accident on the night of September 3, 2012 when a speeding Ferrari driven by Voravudh crushed into a Thonglor traffic policeman, Senior Sgt-Maj Wichien Klinprasert, on the Sukhumvit road killing him on the spot. But four years after the accident, the public prosecutors are still unable to indict the suspect in the court.Mr Prayong said the GSAA merely acted in accordance with the NCPO order 69 to prevent and resolve alleged corruption cases. He added that the commission wanted to find out why enquiry police officers should be held accountable for the delay of the case as the public has raised suspicion about the police handling of the case.He disclosed that the commission earlier sought clarification from the Phra-in Racha police in Ayutthaya for their alleged mishandling of a fatal car accident in which a speeding Mercedes sports car driven by a luxurious car dealer, Janepob Veeraporn, rammed into the rear of a sedan killing to post-graduate students in the car.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/content/157733 -- Thai PBS 2016-03-31
Reigntax Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 And they can also investigate why that unlicenced bimbo who killed nine people was let off so lightly. Just lucky, I suppose, they didnt commit a hard core crime like receiving a red pot from Thaksin and now facing 15 years in prison.
ChrisY1 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) Thong Lo police....case closed...the funds have been paid and accepted....and now the darn case is open again....... What the hell we gonna do????...........well.....lets stall for a while until it's all forgotten again! Edited March 31, 2016 by ChrisY1

thesetat2013 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 This happens in every Country In the World the Rich get away with MurderAt least when is happens there they go through the judicial process and let the lawyers fight it out. Their is always the chance someone will be convicted. Here it never makes it to a court room and the police and victims families are paid off. Quietly, with no chance of any conviction
pedro01 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Has to be said, the aforementioned police station is bent as a nine bob note. I was there when a cop actually complained to my wife about having to do some work (adjudicate a minor car scrape) and that he wasn't getting a backhander for it. My wifes' reply was "well maybe it's about time you did something for Thailand instead of just doing stuff for yourself". Go girl.
Maggusoil Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Keep up the social media pressure in this case. To stand by and not complain is worse.

However it could be more of a...persuasive incentive...for the family to increase the size of the annual pastry box.. A larger box of goodies could certainly help to re-bury the whole thing...especially as they now have the Benz bandit as an offering to the unruly commoners. Plus it appears the anti corruption people may now want a taste. Edited March 31, 2016 by Hayduke

mrrizzla Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 This punk will never spend a day in prison for his drink and drug fueled reckless (murder in opinion). His family is one of THE richest in Thailand. They will pay whatever is necessary. Same with the little wench that murdered 9 and showed no remorse. Her family may not be redbull rich but with her daddies military connections (he probably has the PM and his whole cabinet on speed dial) - she will never, ever face justice. Jenthpob will probably get a token prion sentence as while he is rich, he is not redbull rich or as connected as the tollway murderer.
Artisi Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Must be annual brown paperbag review time, not all that different to annual wage and bonus review.
Ulic Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 This reminds me of that saying, "you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time." The government and Hiso's are just figuring it out now.

While i think you are right, we had a pretty stright forward experience there after we accidently hit some poor sod crossing the road. They adjudicated it fairly and reasonably as far as I was concerned. No backhanders.

Lysdexic Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 For all those whining about how the rich get away with murder: if it was your son or daughter and you had Red Bull money you would move heaven and earth to keep your child out of prison. That's how life works. Anyone who says they'd throw their kid to the wolves is a liar or hates his kid.

In the case of the Mini van murderer I would at least raise her to show compassion for her victims and actually pay money from my vast wealth to the victims.
Jonmarleesco Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 '... four years after the accident, the public prosecutors are still unable to indict the suspect in the court.' And it's taken four years for the anti-corruption body to start asking questions.

Or, just possibly, thinks it's long past time his 'kid' took responsibility for his actions, instead of running to papa every time he f__ks something - or someone - up.

In the case of the Mini van murderer I would at least raise her to show compassion for her victims and actually pay money from my vast wealth to the victims. You hit the nail right on the head. This is what is missing from the Thai language dictionary, "COMPASSION". Her parents do not show any compassion so how can you expect their offspring to have compassion.
khomlong1 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Songkran will be ok for drunk wealthy murderers . Will their cars be taken away?

NongKhaiKid Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 The decision to soft pedal this case is likely to go far up the BIB tree and beyond so will the GSACC really pursue this to the end no matter who is involved ?
