BANGKOK, 1 April 1 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Energy has worked with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to make information pertaining to national energy a better database in terms of quality and reliability. The energy database is known as Thailand Energy Information Center (TEIC).

Nattipon Kanokchot, assistant to the Energy Minister, who attended the opening ceremony for TEIC, said Thailand's energy database is a key part of the national strategy in making quality and reliable energy data for use by policy analysts and energy management. The uniform and consistent data would build understanding among all agencies in energy sector. The uniform database could lead to sustainability of Thailand's energy development.

Chavalit Pichalai, deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Energy, said that the main goal of founding TEIC is to integrate energy data and develop it as a prototype for national database and become a regional database in the future. TEIC was founded according to the roadmap which has received technical support and information from IEA, a well-known global agency for unbiased and reliable data.
