What a dose of nonsense to compare a smart tv with a dumb tv with a android box or a Apple. Actually I have both of them. 4K Netflix on any of these devices is impossible. Don't know about other brands, but on LG TV's you can only get 4K Netflix with the native WebOS app. These boxes also take up a dedicated HDMI port. Personally I have a Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and a Sony Home theater. All HDMI ports are full. You can use HDMI switchers but couldn't find any of them working properly. With a Smart TV you have every thing in one device. Plus if you are looking for a TV in the 30k plus range chances are it's a Smart TV.

Must be so hard pulling a plug out and putting another one in.

How many inputs on your home theater?

And where are you where you have sufficient bandwidth to run Netflix in 4K?

South Korea?

Exactly. This guy's only sore spot is 4K streaming. For 95% of people, this is not used. A lot won't even go for 4K TVs yet - 4K content is still scarce. For all other functions, an Android or Apple box offers more functions, more apps and easy to upgrade. Android boxes especially are cheap and you get very fast processors and plentiful RAM, including free movie streaming. You can install games as well, if you're not nerdy enough to have both an Xbox and a PS4.

Don't know which planet he is shopping in. There are even remote-controlled or auto (and cheap) HDMI switchers have been working since 1st generation PS.

How do you have the time to patronize forummers, with your availability of 4K Netflix and two game consoles? Remember to rest your eyes.

Hi, to answer your question, yes smart tvs do work, but with some limitations, I would not ever buy again tho'. better of using a Computer with HDMI lead or u can purchase an Intel tv stick which gives u a complete on line computer with windows 10, better processor and ram than the tvs will give.

good luck!

You need a consistent minimum of 15-20Mb to stream 4K.

Certainly feasible if the relevant ISP buys a NetFlix OCA but otherwise over international links? Forget it.

I know I can only dream....

Indeed.

Get a computer to do the computing, theTV to do the visual. Have the computer with a sound card connected to a 5.1 surround sound system to do the sounding.

Great for porn, btw.

Enjoy. :)
