Roadside bomb blast wounds three Marines

NARATHIWAT: -- Three Marines were wounded when southern militants detonated a roadside bomb as they were on the way to give protection to a military draft unit in Tak Bai district of Narathiwat province Monday morning.

They were attached to Narathiwat Task Force 31 .

The three are identified as Pvt Nasri Longsor, Pvt Saksit Chaiphimon and Pvt Sathit Bin-awe.

The Marines were travelling in a pickup truck to the unit when a bomb was detonated on the road between Ban Jumbok and Ban Koh Satorn.

The incident occurred about 7.15am.

Explosive ordnance disposal police sealed off the road to traffic as they inspected the explosion scene this morning.
