Transferring Extension of Stay to New Passport

Featured Replies

Hi,

So basically my current passport is due to expire in August of this year. In the next few weeks I am visiting the UK and I plan to get a new passport there using the urgent system whereby I book an appointment and am issued the passport on the same day.

As all of my Non-B visa information is listed in my current (and soon to be, "old") visa, will there be a problem when I re-enter Thailand. So long as I have the new passport for valid travel as well as the old passport with my visa details, extension stamps and re-entry permit, this will be OK?

Thanks in advance for any help, information or advise as I am starting to really panic about this!

When you enter the country after getting your new passport you will shoe both passports and they will stamp you into the country to the date shown on your re-entry permit in your new passport.

Then you will need to go to immigration to have your stamps transferred to your new passport.

Providing you have a valid re-entry permit there will be no problem. Just present both passports.

You will need to have the stamps transferred to the new passport ASP after returning.
