Your friend will have to apply for a work permit for you .

Once the Labour office has issued a letter accepting the WP application you can obtain the required "B" visa from a nearby country with supporting documentation supplied by your friends company.

Once you have the "B" visa the work permit will be issued.

The labour department is in Suratthani town, but they do an outreach to Samui on Wednesday mornings. It's behind the Tessaban building in Nathon, next to the social security office. They can give you a list of documents to prepare for your WP application. But call before you visit to see if they will be there, as they don't show up every Wednesday.
