Extension on 30 day visa exemption, please can I have some advice...

Featured Replies

I am a UK resident and was wondering if it is possible to extend a 30 day visa exemption by an additional 30 days at the immigration office in Jomtien, Pattaya?

If I can then what is the procedure, ie. What do I need to bring? How long does it take?

My exemption expires on the 12th April, can I go into the immigration office on the 11th or do I need to apply a few days before?

Thanks in advance

It is possible.

You will need a completed TM7 form with attached photo, copies of your passport data page, entry stamp and departure card together with the 1900 Bht fee.

You may also have to provide evidence of your address in Thailand.

Probably best not left to the last minute.

They should accept an application within the last week of the current permit to stay.

Don't go on 11th!

Chances are it is very crowded (only 2 days opened next week).

Go on Thursday 7th! Will be accepted and you don't loose any days. (30 days added from expiry date)

Tomorrow 6th is closed.

I went about a week ago. The office gave me the form to fill in, photocopied my apartment rental agreement and the relevant pages of my passport and took my photo (I think they charged 100 baht for the photo, can't quite remember). I asked one of the girls to check that I'd filled in everything correctly and gave her a tip, she then got my ticket for me and explained which desk I needed to wait at.

All in all, I was in there a little over an hour, which I thought was brilliant considering I had no idea what I was doing and they were really busy!
