PATTAYA:-- A Thai tour guide of a Chinese group visiting Pattaya was robbed of 40,000 baht from his hotel room by a girl he chatted with on Facebook.

But it could have been worse - the Facebook "friend" turned "fiend" missed much more hidden in the room.

Satta Butrasali, 40, from Surin told local police that he had chatten with a woman on Facebook for about a month. They agreed that if he came to Pattaya they would meet up.

When Satta brought his tour group to the resort he contacted the woman who agreed to come to his room at the Splendid Hotel Resort at Jomtien. While Satta was taking a shower he had a feeling something was wrong and emerged to see the woman dressed and complaining she was hungry saying she was going to 7-11. She ran out of the room.

The chase was on but the woman had an accomplice waiting on a motorcycle downstairs and the pair disappeared into the night.

Police investigating said that 20,000 baht in Thai money and 3,000 yuan was taken. But the victim said that a total of around 200,000 was hidden in the room and it was lucky that he still had most of it.

Police are checking CCTV in the area to follow the train of the Facebook "friend."

Not only "farangs" being robbed by the bit.... wink.png

emerged to see the woman dressed

Why would she "not" have been dressed ? cheesy.gif

I don't see how this is Facebook's fault.

As for the Thai woman complaining she was hungry and running to Seven, that's pretty normal. Complain you're hungry, eat a bit of something, and then complain you're full. It's a beautiful cycle.

Rotten title. If they had met on Thai Visa, would your headline reflect that?
