First visa run of my multi entry visa...where do I go

Featured Replies

Hi

I received my Multi entry visa back in New ealand in August

Its a u.s. passport,

as thats where I originally am from

and happily escaped many years ago.

I entered Thailand Februray 23rd 2016.

The stamp says MEV

and that it is good until April 23rd.

I know the old process when it was the double entry visa.

Do I simply go up to Mae Sei

and cross over the friendship bridge

and turn back around immediately.

Or do I need to go to Vientian or.... in Laos

I live in Pai

Do I simply need to go to Mae Hong Son?

Or somewhere else?

Thanks for your help...

Also, how much will the process cost

I guess you have a METV (multiple entry tourist visa)

You simply need to cross a border, enter another country and return.

Costs will involve paying for a visa for whichever country you choose to enter + transportation and incidental expenditure.

You can also extend each 60 day stay at an immigration office by 30 days for a fee of 1900 Bht.

You apparently got a 3 entry tourist visa in August and did your last entry on it in February. The multiple entry tourist visa did not become available until November of last year.

You could apply for a 30 day extension at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.

Since it appears your visa has already expired (6 months from the date of issue) you would only get a 30 day entry it you leave and re-enter the country. You will not be able to do a crossing at Mae Sai without a valid visa.

A little bit confusing as you were going to apply for a METV in February 2016

If that is the case you can get a 30 day extension at Immigration for 1,900 Baht

or cross a border and return to get 60 days.
