Hi there, this might be a bit complicated. So to start i need to renew my on year non b visa outside the country. it's actually expired already last feb 16,2016 but i did go outside the country and get 3 more months stamp which expired on april 16. i was planning to get 7 days extension or just pay 7 days overstay and renew my non b visa. I was a bit busy as well that is why i plan to extend. But when i talk with my accountant to get my docs ready she said that i should apply my new non b visa before april 16 so i can get a multiple visa. She said if i apply it after april 16 they will not give me 1 year multiple instead they will give me single entry visa then apply again for 1 year multiple visa. She said it's the new Thai embassy rule. Is anyone knows about this rule? or experience this? or if you can give any advice? thanks much!!!

There are no new rules that I am aware of.

I know of no such rule unless he is referring to you not having 8 months remaining on your work permit when you apply for the multiple entry non-b visa at the consulate in Penang. I say Penang because that is the only nearby location that does them.

Only close consulate that will issue a multiple entry non-B visa is Penang and they require eight months validity on work permit.

yes it's valid till oct 2016. i was planning to go to manila to visit some friends and apply again there. i did apply there last year also. i'm actually confused when my accountant here in thailand said that. It was a bit confusing as well. They are changing rules without even notice.

i was planning to apply in manila. I did it there last year. My work permit will expired oct 2016 so that means in 6 months. Why they need 8 months validity? Have you tried to apply before?

Read the reply's above . There has not been any change of rule but if you prefer to believe what 'she' has told you then you should act upon her advice.

That really makes no sense to me. Your current permit to stay will end as soon as you leave the country so how would that effect you getting a new visa.
