Deputy Police Chief inspects progress of police work in Deep South

YALA, 7 April 2016 (NNT) – Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Srivara Ransibrahmanakul has followed up on police operations and security cases in the southern border provinces while placing an emphasis on public safety during this Songkran Festival.


Upon arrival at the Southern Border Provinces Police Operation Center in Yala province, Pol Gen Srivara and his entourage were greeted by Pol Lt Gen Chalermpan Achalaboon, chief of the center, and other high-ranking officers.

Pol Gen Srivara said his visit was aimed to give his policy address and operational guidelines to police officers on duty in the southernmost region, particularly on the suppression of human trafficking, eradication of mafia gangs, proceeding of security cases and provision of safety for revelers during the Songkran Festival. Prior to the meeting, he was briefed on the progress of the probe into the case of a car bomb attempt in Yarang district, Pattani province.

Pol Gen Srivara instructed local officials to step up their security efforts by adopting proactive approaches, setting up more checkpoints and intensifying patrols in urban areas. He expressed satisfaction with the integration of work between police, soldiers, local administrators and residents in tackling the unrest. Public members were also urged to be cooperative and put their faith in the authorities’ ability to restore peace in the region.
