Ford Car Cam SD Card and ADR Player

Featured Replies

I think this is the place to start with my problem.

I bought the Ford Car Cam ... it's quite a small screen. All recordings are saved onto a micro SD Card. I very wrongly assumed that it would be easy to put the SD Card into my Galaxy Note4 to view on a larger screen. The Car Cam unit does have AV out.

When I put the SD Card into my PC all works fine and the files play automatically one after the other, all I do is double click on the ADR Player and choose a file to start . Please see the two pics of what 'appears' to be on the SD Card and the playback screen. Putting the card into my phone gets nothing.

So I googled and found that an MX Player might work. Downloaded it and nothing. I then noticed that the SD Card wouldn't mount, When you put a blank micro SD Card into the Car Cam it does some sort of format and installs the ADR Player.

Is there a way out of my problem please, such that I can view it on a larger screen other that carting a Laptop around. My In car unit doesn't have AV facility. .... Thanks

A number of potential issues here. First, what file system is the SD card using? Fat16. Fat32 or exFat?

Second, how do you mount the SD card? Do you put it into the SD slot in your phone, or try to connect externally, via an OTG cable/card reader?

Under andoid, depending on the version, exFat may not be supported. Also, OTG may not be supported, but could be with the use of an app.

Check out the 'Nexus Media Importer' app. It may, or may not, work on your phone. They have a free version to test/try it out.

Also, check out the 'StickMount' app. Warning, requires Root access.

Another app I just came across, which may be of use is 'USB Video Player - OTG Player'

Last, but not least, is an app I use a lot, 'Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+'

Hope some of that helps.

Thanks ....

1st ... yes it's FAT

2nd ... I removed the SD Card, this is the one in the phone for extra memory and replaced it with the SD Card out of the Car Cam and then pressed mount ... it didn't

Yes the Note 4 supports OTG ... I'll see if I can get a card reader and cable ... may take a few days ...until I can get the phone to see the SD Card, that's it.
