30 day stamp or SETV to convert to Non-B?

Featured Replies

I arrive back in Thailand on 18 Apr. I will sign an employment contract that day then start the process to get a non-B. I do not have an outward journey as I will be staying in BKK for 1 year. Should I get a SETV from my home country or will a 30 day stamp be fine? Will I have any problems from immigration without a SETV?

You will not have a problem with immigration but you might have a problem with the airline if you try to board without a visa or an onward ticket.

  • If you are traveling without a visa, and without an onward flight out of Thailand within 30 days of arrival, there is a good chance the airline will not let you check-in/board. If you want to travel that way you can buy a cheap onward ticket to any country.

Travelling with an SETV does not require an onward flight.

Thanks guys. I have printed out the application form and will go to get the 60 day SETV tomorrow. Quick question - on the form it has a section "Exit date - last 3 visits to Thailand..........................................". Is this my previous 3 exits? Or when my final 3 exits will be?

Previous visits.
