PM asks govt agencies to cut unnecessary spendings

BANGKOK, 14 April 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has asked all government agencies to utilize their budgets appropriately, discouraging unnecessary travels abroad, says the spokesman.

Government Spokesman Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd has revealed Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha’s directives for government agencies and state enterprises to ensure that their budget is spent efficiently, in accordance to their own differing variables.

He has said all payment rules should be flexible but not in violation of their designated disbursement rules. Unnecessary visits abroad are discouraged as they are considered big spendings. Each agency will be required to clarify the details and concrete objectives that will be gained from embarking on a foreign visit.

Regarding Nakhon Ratchasima governor's decision to cancel a foreign visit with a cost of 10 million baht, the government spokesman said the Prime Minister has thanked the work of all officials that prioritize on the public’s well being and national benefits.

Gen. Prayut should take a look on his own doorstep if he wants to save money. The money that he is trying to save, pails into insignificance, when compared to the military budget spending...coffee1.gif

10 million baht for a governor to make a foreign visit. Who is he visiting, the man on the moon?

The general shouldn't be thanking him for canceling the visit but should be interrogating him on how such a visit could possibly cost so $285,000US dollars.

He ASKED ? I thought he TOLD people what to do.

Is this like government army employees who sit on chairs and do nothing to help the police but get overtime pay for doing nothing. Start with these stupid over time bills for the military government workers who do nothing but want to look important.

Glad to hear they won't buy the submarines - or did I get something wrong? whistling.gif

Umm....unnecessary like going to the UN in New York? And with the hundreds of billions being thrown around by this government for dozens of mega-projects, why worry about a few million extra for travel!

Submarines and High Speed Trains should be first in the bin. Stop dreaming and get real !!

Dont tell me they bought more clocks .

the Submarines and High Speed trains are carry over from the Shin Dynasty. or have you forgotten. There are many projects which were started but were never carried out because of corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. Every project since 2000 have had the Shin hands in the cookie jar.

All the more reason they should be willing to drop it. Perhaps only color that matters is colors of money. Elites don't become elites on base salaries. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss......

Could closedown the Dept of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation due to its failings
