Need mattress advice

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to replace the mattress that came with my condo (6 years old). The one I have now (queen) probably goes for between 3-5000 (maybe closer to the lower end of the range). I'm looking to spend up to about 10,000. I've checked HomePro, Big C Klang (a few more than half off from 20,000+) and some outlet on Suk. Where do you think I'll get the best value? I've been told that a pocket spring type might be worth it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

I have not bought but suspect they use the same maker I used some 35 years ago.

This sounds as if it may be a good option:

Sorry can not comment on Pattaya outlets - but 6 years is not very old - my bottom line Sealys are about 16 and still usable - OK; it's because they are only used for sleeping. smile.png

Bun Kanchana Alley and Sukhumvit Rd. in Jomtien on the corner offers many good quality mattresses at a decent price.

The owner understands English and is easy to talk to, he gives discounts also.

I live on Wat Boon Kanchana, is that the Soi you mean? Many thanks.

According to Google Maps, that's the name. It's the next through street after Thepprasit heading away from Pattaya.

Ikea...decent quality and a choice of firmness.

But I'm not sure whether they deliver to Pattaya.

IKEA is the only place I would get another mattress from.

Thai mattresses are universally overpriced, uncomfortable and poor quality.

Latex is out because it makes me sweat and I dont like it.

Something to think about. A lot of the thai mattress being sold will be sun damaged. This can give a powdery dust cloud from the mattress when turned. It will leave your room messy & it can't be healthy to breathe in while sleeping. Bigger outlets would be a better option

I bought mine at INDEX. I have had it 8 years and it is still the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. I still get into it and go "Ahhhh". It was a bit pricey, don't remember how much, but WELL worth it.

It is about 18" thick has springs, foam, anti bug stuff etc...

Too bad that the OP doesn't have a king-size bed frame, as this is

an incredible buy:

I'm posting this for neighbor of mine who a brand new, un-used and still in the wrapper,

Slumberland King-size mattress and is selling it for only 13,000-Bt!

He purchased it at Home Pro for 99,000-Bt and has the receipt..

Mattress was purchased to go in a condo he was buying, but
sale fell through. He currently resides in a rental condo and the bed
frame is only for a Queen-size mattress. He is now planning to
return home to Europe, and is selling un-needed new mattress.

He resides in the Keha Condos on Thepprasit Rd

It's good to be cautious, especially in Thailand, as there are some fraudsters!

OTOH, some folks just _assume_ everything is a scam, but fail to investigate, or in this case

failing to view the property offered, and rushing to judgement, might make that person ...foolish!!

I have no interest in the mattress being offered; I just trying to help a neighbor.

I was unable to post pictures directly into Thai Visa, so here they are from my Photoshop acc't:

This bein' Thailand, you might wanna import one o' them new smart mattresses:

. . . a "Lover Detection System" . . . will buzz your phone every time it detects suspicious activity.

With 24 ultrasonic sensors embedded in the springs, the mattress can detect action across multiple contact zones and "sends an alert to your mobile phone whenever someone is using your bed in a questionable way."

--Track all your partner's infidelities with this smart mattress

I’ve been in search for a high density spring coil box, foam mattress and multiple sheets layer in original manifested    mattress for the past 20 years, without any luck until now.

Priced only 4000 baht at the first mom and pop local store, was really surprised of the mattress layout and price.

Name of brand is now hidden under my bed linen, sorry excellent medium soft type.
