Drug mules end up in ditch after chase in Samut Prakarn

BANGKOK: -- Two drug mules delivering Ya Ba ended up in a Samut Prakarn ditch after police shot out their Fortuner's tires on Thursday.

They arrested Harit Phakdi, 27, and an unnamed juvenile aged 17 along with 200 pills, Daily News reports.

Acting on a tipoff police waited for the vechicle delivering drugs at the Ua-athorn Kajornwit housing estate in the province south of Bangkok. The suspects managed to escape damaging a police vehicle as the chase began.

Officers shot at the tires of the Fortuner in Praeksa district with the driver losing control and ending up in the ditch. The Ya Ba were found under hidden the driver's seat.

The mules, charged with possession of class one drugs with intent to sell, said they were paid 5,000 baht to make the delivery. They said it was done thorough a mobile phone and they did not know the person behind who ordered it.

Police are investigating who might have ordered the delivery.

"They said it was done thorough a mobile phone and they did not know the person behind who ordered it." Yet they knew where they were going before the police encounter and some how drugs magically appeared in the vehicle in which they were travelling!
