Urgent Flight Advice Please

Featured Replies

booked with Air Asia, from 11th April to next wednesday20th, at a cost of 8000 baht, due to a family bereavement we need to return tomorrow, saturday 16th, i have been on their site and they want over 16,000 baht just for the return, when i re-scheduled, a rediculous figure, when i have paid already, i realise i would have to pay extra as it is a daytime flight, any suggestions please. this is a total rip off, do we just show up and book one way or go with LION Air, tried talking to an advisor after waiting nearl one and half hours,

Would help to know where you are flying from.

Just showing up is not likely to yield a lower airfare than what you see online with AirAsia.

oops sorry PHUKET i just checked as a new customer and i came out at 8849 (i did think 9000) so i dont know why the hell they wanted over 16,000

It is pretty well known that with budget airlines, if you transact at the airport (buying tickets and check-in baggage) the costs will be higher. If you have purchased tickets without flexibility for changes, the costs for changing the tickets could be higher than the tickets themselves. In your situation, it would be cheaper to buy new tickets online again.

Tomorrow (first big return wave from Songkran) is one of the worst days to return to Bangkok.

Heavy booked, expensive (if seats available at all).

Sorry for not having better news.

Good luck.

You are lucky to get any seat at all!

For comparison, returning from our upcountry airport (Khon Kaen), tomorrow?

(example Thai Smile which is usually a bit more expensive than Nok or Air Asia)

No flights for this day.

Out of 5 flights.

One seat to DMK in the most expensive booking class, 3780 oneway.

Sunday:

No flights for this day.

To both airports, zero seats.

In addition to the previous post, presumably the flights are full due to songkran?

edit - beaten to it..

The obvious biggrin.png

A nightmare to rebook for tomorrow or Sunday.

Limited seats available from Phuket.

Lion Air, Phuket - DMK between 2925 to 3225 one way per person (not having checked whether this is a final price, I doubt it).

If it's cheaper than AA then book it quickly!

NokAir about 3000 "starting price",

And they always have some additionals during the booking.

Thai Smile (total prices):

11:30h to DMK, 4880

19:25h to BKK, 3380, a bargain wink.png

legacy airlines apply he same rules when booking their cheap fares.

on the other hand - who wants to pay a full Y fare that is 100% changeable - it usually costs more than a business class fare

Don't change the ticket, buy a new one online..... no more than 4000 baht.
