I'm planning to go next month to Vientiane to apply for single entry tourist visa (Israeli passport) together with my girlfriend (french passport).

I've done this visa run several times in the past and it always went smoothly.

my question is - did the embassy made any changes recently with the guidelines regarding getting a visa - such as requirement to show cash,bank account papers etc. ? or is it as i remember - just filling up a form and paying the visa fee ?

There have ben no changes.

The only possible concern is if your current passport has several previous tourist visas from Vientiane. They have been known to apply a limit. They normally warn you when giving you the last one, though.

I got one there 6 weeks ago, no cash showing etc needed, process is the same as it's always been

Make sure you have the full address of where you're staying. A hotel name in a particular city isn't enough.
