Just announced: State of Palestine Passports

Featured Replies

Palestine issuing passports again after all these years.

Maybe some of the old Zionists might want one to go along with their Palestinian birth certificates.

Hardly "again", as you are surely aware.

The British Mandate of Palestine is not the same as the future Palestinian State.

Even if Israelis were to wish for the rather useless Palestinian passport, they would not be eligible.

If Jews born in Palestine before 1948 showed their Palestinian birth certificates, wouldn't they be eligible for one of the new passports?

PA has to vote in the future specific laws in order to acquire Palestinian citizenship. Which is a delicate historical topic, but Palestinians respect religious freedom and equality.

The applicants will have to prove precise clean records. In such way that they didn't participated or contributed in any collective or individual action/conflict against the creation of Palestine. This should be extended to actions of ascendants and descendants.

Only a small minority would be eligible.

Their rights and obligations would be legally equal to all other Palestinians, whatever the religion once they obtain Palestinian citizenship.

Birth certificates under former British Mandate in Palestine were created with data originating from the civil administration of the Ottoman Empire. There was never a full conversion of the Ottoman civil administration to the newer British one. Pretending otherwise is a classic canard...

On the other hand, Israeli Arab citizens should also be able to apply for dual citizenship. Many Israeli Jews have dual citizenship.

Idem dito for all the Palestinian refugees residing in neighbouring Arab countries with local citizenship.

Lol. Does this utopian world exist through the looking glass or wardrobe?

The Palestinian National Authority drafted, but did not pass, a piece of legislation in 1995 outlining its Citizenship Law. Article 7 of this legislation defines a Palestinian as anyone who "(1) was a holder of Palestinian citizenship (other than Jews) before 15 May 1948;

Equal rights, respect for minorities and generally enlightened and beneficial outlook are not the actual hallmarks of the Palestinian Authority. Applies even more strongly with respect to the Hamas.

Most Arab countries did not, and do not, grant citizenship to Palestinians.

You want me to apologise for my disgusting and hateful post ??? Netanyahu.... Is a moron and so other Israel PMs, wright them a letter and get them to apologise , I have only stated the truth. I pity the Jews as I pity many other people in other countries, when people are left to their own devices they are great and loving, you put in the mix politicians, morons, arms, money, power, behind close door treaties, hidden agendas, twisted <deleted> up minds, then we all end up wanting to kill each other's. My original thought is
