worgeordie
"I think I can make it ", which ends in tragedy, too often in Thailand. I hope they are going to install FULL barriers at all rail crossings, not the half ones, as you know they will just drive around them, BEFORE they start ,if/when the High speed trains regards worgeordie
ratcatcher
"But a garbage truck driver jumped the barrier and hit at the rear bogie of the train." How high can a garbage truck jump? I suppose he drove around the barrier? Well, at least he's where he belongs, in a safer place away from other living creatures.
Nbarch
None of this will happen when Thailand has Chinese high speed trains.
B1TcoinLife
If he jumped the barrier too early, how did he hit the back of the train? Shouldn't he have hit the front??
Varangkul
Video on TV show the truck actually driving into the barrier, which was in a "down" position, before striking the train/carriages. The truck did not drive around the barrier, the train was almost clear of the crossing, just two carriages to go. Summise all you like, but get the facts straight. Usual Suspect
Just seen a video that had in it a train approaching a half-barriered crossing in Cambodia...yep, just same as Thailand, a rail-worker frantically blowing his whistle, but still the motorcyclists squeezed on thru' right till the train was upon them..Ho-hum. There's one on YouTube, express train hits it in the intersection...... You wouldn't even know there was a truck involved from the few parts that were scattered around.....
