Leaving on a Temp Non-B Visa and returning on Visa Exemption

Featured Replies

Hi, I am currently on a 3 month Non B Visa as I was going to start working here and soon have my work permit approved. Unfortunately however I now have to return to the UK for a while so I won't be getting my work permit and therefore my Visa will become void when it runs out in mid-May. I am not flying back to the UK however until the 1st of June.

So my question is, would I be able to leave the country before my Non B Visa runs out (mid-May) for a weekend and come back in on a Visa Exemption if I have proof of onward travel (my flight to England booked for around two weeks time after re-entering)

Thanks

  • Yes. You can leave whenever you want. If you have a single entry non 'B' visa it has already been used and is of no further use.

You should have no problem re-entering using visa exempt entry,

Great, thanks so much for the reply. Just one more thing, would i be able to leave overland or do you think it would be safer to leave by plane?

You can leave by land, sea or air ! Your choice.

You should have no problem either way. If you're a UK passport holder you'll get 30 days regardless of entry by land or air.

Your visa expired the second you entered the country. Your permission to stay expires 90 days from that visa usage.
