Dane found dead in Cambodia

Local Cambodian media is reporting that a 56-year-old Danish man has been found dead in a rented room in the port city of Sihanoukville in southern Cambodia.

The man was found two days ago. According to the local police, the man died of heart attack and was not found until several days later.

The Foreign Ministry’s Consular service confirmed that a Danish citizen has died in Cambodia and that his family has been informed.

Sihanoukville is located more than 230 kilometres southeast of the Cambodian capital of Phnom Pehm. The city is a popular tourist destination.

Hmmm....I was in the resort next door. He was 25. Unless that is another one. It was 2 days ago and probably due to drugs.

Sihanoukville is a nice place, was just there a couple of days before Khmer new year. Although during my entire time in Cambodia I saw almost no evidence of the festivities apart from some parties at night on the Sre Ambel - Koh Kong road.

Didn't see anything untoward going on in SHV either, but as the Pattaya of Cambodia no doubt it attracts some weirdos, though those guys seem to be everywhere even in Koh Kong and Kampot. Drugs yes, well they claim a lot of victims far too early.
