Silly promotion at SF bowling?

Usually once the low season starts prices come down to a more reasonable level at SF Bowl (from about 900 Baht an hour to 250 for the first hour and 150 for the next).

In the past years I was always quite happy with that deal however yesterday I was told the 250 Baht per hour is per person and not per lane? There is no details on the promotion sign and I can't find anything online but surely this must be a mistake? The girl even told me that we could have 2 lanes if we paid for two people (so one lane each). Now how silly is that? That would just make it the same price as if we used one lane for two hours if the price was per lane... and on top of that, we wouldn't even consume as much food and drink if we were busy playing on our own lanes.

I'll try later this week to see if there is someone else to talk to... for sure this can't be the way the promotion was intended. In previous years, the prices were exactly the same but the price was per lane and a minimum of 2 persons had to play.

Anyone know if there is a promotion at Major as well? They used to do hourly promotions but seem to often exclude the Pattaya branch lately.

Possible English communication problem. I know it may go against the Thai culture of saving face, but when I don't get the answer I want or need or am confused, I talk to the manager or more employees. Half the time or more the issue is corrected.

On second thought It may have always been priced per player and not by the lane. I thought it was by the game but is it really by the hour? Than 250 isn't so bad. What if you are in the middle of a game as the hour ends?

Major bowl at major cineplex at avenue mall to answer the last question. It may be called blu-o or something.

Are there still lanes atop the corner of 2nd rd and pat klang? Btw is topps still open there as well?

Blu-O at the Avenue has an even sillier promotion going on. Regular priced games are 160 baht. I bought a membership card that reduced the price to 130 baht. Last night they told me that I would have to pay regular price because I had used up all the 30 games that the membership card provides. Good business model. Discourage customers from spending more money. I told them I would just go somewhere else if they didn't honor the 130 price. They didn't seem to care.

The place on Klang and 2nd road is still open. Its a lot cheaper than Avenue or Central, but the place is run down. The pins quite often dont reset right. The balls have chips in the finger holes and will cut your fingers.

Tops market is closed now.

Just an update for you guys: We went and obviously we took two lanes as the price was per person. I asked them to put both our names on both lanes so while this was really exhausting to play, in the end we got to play 10 games each in the one hour (they let you finish all the games you started within that hour) for 500 Baht total, not bad compared to the regular price of some 3,000 Baht or so.

But I must say this place starting to look dated compared to Blu-O. Wasn't Central built in like 2012 or so? The system says Copyright 1994-1996 and still uses CRT screens. Also, one lane was constantly doing funny things and more often was broken than not (pins laying on the lane, the thing getting constantly jammed etc.).

Even that place in Tops is overpriced... That old thingy costs 600 Baht an hour?! Whhhaatt? In my country I pay like 12€ an hour per lane for a brand new place?!

I just really wish Blu-O would do a nice Promotion again. Speaking of Blu-O: They just built a brand new complex in Phnom Penh... obviously all the systems are from Brunswick so imported. But over there they don't charge you a ridiculous 960 Baht per hour (well, technically they do) but you can use their promotion: Spend 1,800 Baht on food and drink (not too hard if there is beer drinkers in your group or if everyone comes hungry) and get to play 3 hours for free. Now that's a promotion I'd like to see over here smile.png

Just noticed blu o promotion at the avenue before 6pm if I recall correctly, happy hour bowling, looks like a good price, sorry do not recall, 160 an hour? Call them? Or call major, their customer service is usually good and they might be the same business owners.
