April 26, 201610 yr Colorado town's entire police department resignsBy Tony Marco and Catherine E. Shoichet, CNN(CNN)We've heard a lot the past few months about police leaders in major cities stepping down, but one Colorado town took things a step further -- the entire department resigned. The police department in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, only had four employees, according to CNN affiliates: a marshal and three deputies. They haven't spoken out publicly about what made them leave their positions in the small city of about 700 full-time residents."The town's talking," CNN affiliate KOAA reported, "but the few who know why the marshal suddenly left, so far, are not speaking up." April 26, 201610 yr Well, four jobs are now open in the police department in Green Mountain Falls. Send in your applications.
April 26, 201610 yr If the inhabitants of Green Mountain Falls are law abiding, then the marshal and his three deputies won't be missed. Grass is legal now, isn't it?
April 26, 201610 yr Time for a bank job or 3. No banks in town. The locals do their banking in Crystola.
April 26, 201610 yr My guess is that the city was going to start requiring drug tests and the entire department quit because they felt it was unconstitutional.
April 26, 201610 yr When a sheriff or marshal quits, the volunteer cops (4 in this case), cannot legally work. They had no choice but to resign.
April 27, 201610 yr 4 cops in a town of 700? That is too many, must be a dangerous place. I was also thinking 4 cops in a town of 700, but more like what an easy job that would be. I mean it is not like you are going to have a rape and murder once a week, is it? The most you might get is a drunken brawl on a Saturday Night in some bar. But then Bartenders there keep a baseball bat under the bar and usually handle there own affairs without help.
