I arrived on 3 March on a 90 day Non-O with the intention of changing to a spousal visa. By 6 March I had opened a bank account in my name and deposited 400,000+ baht. 60 days need to pass before I begin the process to apply for the change. At the earliest that would be 5 May or maybe better 6 May [at 61days] but I really won't have the opportunity to due so until Monday 9 May [which happens to be a holiday] so that brings me to the 10th. Will there be enough time to have the paperwork processed before my current visa expires on 31 May? -or- having begun the process is there some sort of extension that is granted? I'll be doing this in Khon Kaen if that has any bearing on the matter.

Thanks for any input

JUST SPOTTED THE TYPO in the title "hangeover" should be "Changeover". Don't see a way to edit the title and it as it is it will probably attract more attention anyway.

You will be applying for an extension of stay based upon marriage to a Thai not a visa of any type.

You could apply on the last day of your permit to stay and have the application accepted as long as you have all the correct paperwork.

When your application is accepted you will be given a under consideration stamp with a 30 day report back date on it that allows you to stay until the application is approved.
