Visa on arrival renewal--on day at Immigration in Pattaya or before in BKK?

Featured Replies

I got a tourist visa on arrival (I'm a U.S. citizen) that expires on Monday. I have two options:

1. Get it renewed in Bangkok on Friday

2. Get it renewed in Pattaya on Monday

Is there any problem with renewing a visa on the day it expires? Does Pattaya immigration have a longer wait time than Bangkok?

If you were me, which option would you go with? I'd really prefer doing it in Pattaya if possible.

You have a visa exempt entry not a visa on arrival. A visa on arrival is only for 15 days and you do not qualify for one.

1. or 2. are the same.

You can apply on the last day if you want to.

Pattaya probabley would be the best choice.

You need a local address for where you apply to put on the application form.

Immigration will be open on Monday the 2nd. Banks will be closed though.

" I do know the 5th is the Kings Birthday."

I believe that's in December.
