Rainy season to come in mid May, weather chief says

BANGKOK: It's a good news now when the Meteorological Department says the current drought that has plagued many parts of the country and put it as the worst in 20 years will be over mid next month as the seasonal monsoon rains will start to come.

Pattaya Hotel Owner Receives Mysterious Letter with Ice Lookalike Inside

PATTAYA: At 22.00hrs on Friday 29 April 2016 Pattaya Police Officers were informed by the owner of a hotel in Soi Dongtarn, Pattaya that there was a mysterious letter sent to an unknown person and that he couldn’t match it to any of the guests.

Stiffer fines for repeat offenders who leave vehicle engines idling from June 1 in Singapore

Over 167,000 jobs up for grabs in Labour Day job fairs in Philippines

MANILA: Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said on Friday that more than 167,000 vacancies will be available for job seekers in 54 job fair venues across the Philippines on Labour Day, May 1, 2016, according to Manila Bulletin.

Anti-Rohingya demonstrators to be charged with unlawful protest, say police

RANGOON: Hundreds of protesters assembled to condemn the US embassy’s use of the word in an April 20 statement offering condolences and expressing concern after 18 internally displaced Rohingya Muslims died when their boat capsized near Sittwe, the capital of Arakan State. One of the protesters’ rallying cries was, “There are no Rohingya in Burma.”

Even some of the most suspicious people would accept that there are at least some benefits in the proliferation of CCTV cameras throughout the world. But the very tool that authorities cite as so useful in bringing offenders of all descriptions to justice is very much a double edged sword.
