May 3, 201610 yr Khmer Times/Buth Reaksmey Kongkea The trial of six men, one British and five Cambodian, over allegedly forging public documents to justify the clearance and occupation of more than 770,000 hectares of state forest in Banteay Meanchey province between 2010 and 2012, resumed yesterday. Gregg Thomas Fryett, the 48-year-old chairman of International Green Energy’s (IGE) board of directors, as well the board of the Britain-based CITADEL, was questioned yesterday over allegations that he had been an accomplice to the forgery. Mr. Thomas Fryett is charged with four counts in connection to the case, including fraud under aggravating circumstances, presiding judge Chuon Soreasey said. More than 20 letters from Cambodian government officials and Banteay Meanchey provincial officials were allegedly mistranslated from Khmer into English by Mr. Thomas Fryett and another accused man, Um Sam Ang, a member of IGE’s board of directors who was tried earlier this year, Mr. Soreasey said.
