Pre Paid Sim Cards

Featured Replies

I'm going to be back in Thailand for a month or so and I was wondering about the SIM/Cell phone situation in BKK. Ideally, I'd love it if I could just pick up a prepaid SIM card and use my existing phone. (I'm assuming that a GSM 1900/900 MHz digital should work in BKK.)

I'd love to hear any advice on this area, where to purchase, etc...

Go to the MahBoonKhrong Centre, near Siam Square, once you arrive in Bangkok. Ask to be pointed towards the mobile telephone sector.

A One2Call SIM card will set you back less than US$10. You may wish to purchase some extra credits whilst there. Call costs are between 10 & 20 cents per minute in-country and 44 cents {Dial 009 (1)} to 60 cents {Dial 001 (1)} a minute to the USA.

The vendor will take care of any compatibility problems whilst fitting the SIM card.
