NAKHON PATHOM: -- Former public health minister Chaiya Sasomsap’s house was one among 12 houses of alleged influential figures in Nakhon Pathom searched by a combined force of about 300 police, military personnel and local officials Tuesday morning.

The operation, codenamed “Nakhon Pathom Romyen” was led by Pol Gen Siwara Rangsipromnakul, the deputy national police chief in his capacity as director of the centre for the suppression of criminal influential figures and hired gunmen.

The criminal influential figures were suspected of involvement in narcotics trafficking, possession of war weapons and bidding collusion.

The officials managed to seize some war weapons and carcasses of protected animal species.
