Floating Market

Featured Replies

HIe

Besides the touristy Damnuern Floating market in Bangkok, Thailand. I understand that's another one in Bangkok. Does anyone knows where about is it ? And whether it's possible to go there on own ? Would it be better to go w a guide ?

When does activities start and end ? eg like starts early morning and ends afternoon anything like that ?

Thank u.

the place you are looking for is the floating market in Taling chan. thats on the other side of river from bangkok (Thonburi)

unfortunately i cant suggest if there are tours that go there, or how to get there by public transport, cos any time i went has been with friends that have car. hours are the usual early morning to late afternoon. but mornings are good as less hot.

check with some local tour operators maybe they can organise something for you. alternatively, just get on a taxi and ask them to take you there. should be cheaper, just arrange with them to pick you up later perhaps? otherwise you might have to walk a fair way to get to main road to hail a taxi back :o

opened only saturdays and sundays 9 - 16. Bus 79 and 83.

there is a tour on the khlongs for some 2h for some 150 baht departing when the boat full.

there are small restaurants, stalls with plants, foot massage shop.

don't worry about the taxi - you need to walk no more than 200m to get one (you will pay a lot for a taxi waiting for you several hours)
