SodaManao777
Hello ThaiVisa, Needing to transfer some money ($$$) from a foreign bank account to my K Bank account. Trying to avoid as many fees as possible. Does anyone have any advice? Is there a way to do it for free? Cheers.
stevenl
Transfer in $$$ to your k bank account. Cost will depend on your bank's policy, minimal charge from k bank.
starky
Been a ton of threads on this one mate, but anyway. I always use a forex trader my preferred one is ozforex but there are plenty to choose from. They will give you a much better rate than the banks and the price you lock the deal in at is the amount you recieve. Amounts over 10000 dollars there is no transaction fee. I am with kasikorn and they charge somewhere @ 500 baht to process the transaction. Too easy. If it's only going to be a one off though you might use other methods but will probably get a lousy exchange rate and attract more fees. Cheers. HLover
Agreed, and you can do the transfer by a phone app once your set up in their system.
daveAustin
HSBC only charged equivalent of $6 for SWIFT transfer recently + the obligatory Thai bank charge. As said, send your home currency to get the Thai onshore rate.
starky
Haha I just wish I had thrown another 10 or 20 thousand in the week before the Aussie dollar took that shellacking. Doesn't look like recovering any time soon either.
flyDelight
This is the cheapest way, I use their Android app frequently. https://transferwise.com/
