JAG
An "Eenabling Bill", but without all the hassle of finding a simple minded fall guy to set fire to the nations parliament building? Edited May 12, 2016 by JAG
Ceruhe
framework for the protection of national sovereignty be drafted for civilians, police and soldiers to follow in an emergency situation Seeing how tons of people already have no idea following basic principles like a red light, good luck whenever that fantasy emergency actually happens. For all we can place bets, people wouldn't even notice or care....let alone know what constitutes an emergency to "normal" people. And please someone actually translate that, eh, "handbook". I ought to get a laugh out of it: 1) don't panic 2) smile 3) be helpful 4) follow instructions 5) Good luck!

WhizBang
This should be interesting. I am sure this new 'National Security bill' will have lots of vague statements in it, to allow for easy interpretation by those in power. Ready for use in August... Hmmmm? Winniedapu
"This framework would also include protocols for Thailand's response to the international community." I wonder what that might mean in real-life terms? Perhaps the boss is weary of taking serious kickings at the hands (or feet) of the international community, but hasn't yet understood that he's absolutely doing it to himself. The actions seen over the past few months appear to have become increasingly extreme - a less generous person than I might infer a degree of desperation on behalf of the boss and/or his sponsors. I did hear a while back that a small group of people have been quietly pulling strings from from afar to create the conditions leading for a civil war in LOS or declaration of LOS as a failed state. It isn't Thaksin - there really isn't a lot of difference between Thaksin and the boss in my view, so it definitely won''t include him. It does seem that those machinations may be bearing fruit though. Of course it's probably only a conspiracy theory like building 7 or something. probably nothing in it at all. It is odd though how the boss seems increasingly fractious about the stupid foreigners not understanding Thailand though. And the people (and the newspapers/TV news) in Thailand do appear to be becoming a bit bored of the boss and his coterie of hangers-on. Perhaps they're a bit smarter than he thinks... phoenixdoglover
Don't worry. It's not like there would be martial law or anything.
outlaw11wa
Does this also include the single gateway?? And beyond that does it encompass access to the info some were asked for regarding social media and email id's at immigration? That was touted as also being in the name of National Security.
