Asus not so smart,Asus Smart Gesture not help

Featured Replies

Drives me nuts, for a while I could deactivate my touchpad (W10 Asus, Chrome, all updates current) when using a mouse,

forget F9, forget Systems settings, forget Asus Smart Gesture.

Hmmm, I'm at the point to overcome my fear of entrusting the laptop to a repair service. With the simple instruction DISABLE THE TOUCHmecrazy PAD.

Reminding myself these are no longer cable time where you pull some strings. Question = can it be done mechanically? Risk of surgery?

Good PC repair in Chiang Mai?

You can disable the touchpad in the BIOS. I am not certain how to enter the BIOS from an Asus machine. It is commonly done while holding down the F1 key or another when rebooting. Depends on the manufacturer. Google "ASUS BIOS" and I am sure you will find how to do it. If you are unfamiliar with tinkering with the BIOS you should read a bit about that too.

Bios...you scare me stiff :-) glad to know where the keyboard is.

Still will try.

Fact seems that whenever the pc goes to sleep , is started, Many drivers seem to freak out, Touchpad, when plugged in screen brightness jumps to brightbright, must manually tune it down to 25%, speakers whisper, and other drivers, they drive me so mad that I forget

OK, take your PC to a repair shop. Ask the to turn off the touchpad in the BIOS (same in Thai). That will take ~3 minutes.
