Cabinet endorses Science and Technology Ministry's plan to push forward Food Innopolis

BANGKOK, 18 May 2016 (NNT) - Science and Technology Minister Pichet Durongkhaweroj said that the cabinet has approved the ministry's plan to establish Food Innopolis and turn it into a global food innovation hub.

Food Innopolis will focus on research, development and innovation for food industry, he said. The cabinet also approved in principle the Finance Ministry's proposal to set up a 10-billion-baht fund to support Food Innopolis.

The ministry was ordered to come up with more attractive packages to entice investors such as tax incentives for researchers, easier work permits for foreign workers and financial and technical support. The food cluster will be established at Thailand Science Park in Klong Luang district in Pathum Thani province.

He said the government was scheduled to kick off the Food Innopolis cluster on May 27 when the Science and Technology Ministry will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with other government agencies, educational institutes and the private sector.

I was under the impression that Innopolis was a town in Russia.

And sorry WhizBang it will be a "global food innovation hub".

But how many ways can you cook mama noodles?

So many hubs around, where do you store them when they are not being used?

The noodles and somtam hub of the world...high technology.

Alternative headline:

"The Earl of Sandwich marries CP alchemist. Record dowry 3.6 bln Stephen Hawking named to be best man."

Interesting:-

Special permit to own Land & permanent resident visa.

Foreigners cant own land in Thailand.

Hope the food is better than the English wording in the Innopolis website.

I wonder how much innovative effort will go in to reducing packaging waste and good, clear, true labeling ( e.g. Lactoysoy Blue / Red dairy content ) ? !

So the Thais are actually figuring out that Residency and Owning properties and Land is an incentive to Foreigners....

No its just the same old marketing spiel.....if they ever did change the law ( constitution ) to allow foreigners to own land it would be big front page news and there would be one hell of a hoo-ha about it.
