Industry Min: There is enough water supply for industrial sector

BANGKOK, 23 May 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Industry has confirmed that there is sufficient water to supply the industrial sector, despite the ongoing drought.

Minister for Industry Dr. Atchaka Sibunruang said she has not received any complaints or negative reports in regard to water shortages in any of the industrial zones in Thailand. She said all factories are operating as usual, thanks to groundwater sources and water stored in various reservoirs.

Despite zero complaints, she said industrial areas in Lamphun and Ayutthaya provinces could be slightly affected by the prolonged dry season, adding however, that the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has already prepared three measures to tackle water scarcity in the future.

She is confident that all the industrial zones in Thailand will receive the water supplies that they need in order to keep their operations rolling.

Lets hope she included to say:

Industry should also try to practice water conservation when ever and where ever possible.

Cheers

Most modern plants have a close loop system and only need extra water to top up their needs such as cooLing towers. In case of a fire and deluge is used then it will usually come from a reservoir as such which will need to be topped up.
