Woman group calls US president to recall its ambassador

BANGKOK: -- A small group of Thai women calling itself the “W Thailand” today gathered in front of the US Embassy on Wireless road calling on the US president to recall its ambassador Glyn T. Davies from Thailand over what it said was his inappropriate behaviour in criticising the Thai laws and justice system on several occasions.

The group said that his continual presence in Thailand may sour the good relations between the two countries which has been enjoyed over a long period of time.

The group submitted their letter to an embassy staff Mr Andrew Armstrong who promised to pass it on to the ambassador.

The group dispersed shortly after reading a statement denouncing the inappropriate behaviour of the ambassador who they said did not understand deeply the Thai culture.
