BANGKOK: -- The Election Commission will start distributing copies of the draft constitution and relevant document to members of the public on May 25.

EC deputy secretary-general Mr Thanisri Sriprathet on Monday took a group of reporters to the printing house to observe the printing of the draft charter, summary of the draft and clarifications of the two questions to be asked from voters in the referendum.

The costs of the printing of one million copies of the draft charter, four million copies each of the summary of the draft and four million copies of the clarifications of the questions for the referendum are estimated at 58 million baht – about 30 million baht less than earlier projection.

On top of that, Mr Thanisri said that 17 million copies of a 12-page pamphlets about the referendum process and key elements of the draft charter will be printed for distribution to households 15 days ahead of the referendum.
