EC and CDC continue prep for public referendum

BANGKOK, 24 May 2016 (NNT) – The Election Commission (EC) has held a meeting with election officials from all 77 provinces alongside the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) preparing teachers and speakers to meet with the public on the draft constitution this June.

CDC Spokesman Chartchai Na Chiang Mai, as Chairman of a Subcommittee on Publicizing the Draft Constitution, revealed that the committee has requested the Ministry of Interior extend a training period for government teachers set to end this week so that the CDC can assemble all relevant materials to prepare them to aid in publicizing the draft charter. Chartchai pointed out that the CDc has a limited amount of members, while the task of informing the public on the charter is a nationwide effort.

At the same time, the EC has held a meeting with election heads from all 77 provinces of the nation to prepare them to handle the upcoming public referendum on the draft charter set to take place on August 7.
