Commerce Ministry scrambles to promote Organic Farm Outlets

BANGKOK, 25 May 2016 (NNT) - Commerce Minister Abhiradee Tantraporn said her agency has promoted the setting up of Organic Farm Outlets where farmers can sell their organic products directly to consumers at fairer prices and gain more incomes than before.

Since consumers worldwide prefer organic products, the Ministry of Commerce has assigned the Department of Internal Trade to take steps in support of the farmers and to add more values to their organic products, she said.

Initially, the department has promoted the sales of organic product markets at the Organic Farm Outlets and looked to expand the organic products markets, domestic and abroad, she said.
