BANGKOK: -- A student who was wearing high tech glasses for recording information has denied involvement in the medical exam cheating scandal that has rocked a Bangkok university.

The student, aged 19, reported to Pak Klong Rangsit police with a lawyer to admit that he was wearing the high tech specs on the day of the entrance exam but didn't think it was a big deal. Denying any involvement in the cheating he said he was fully aware of the regulations surrounding the tests and the consequences for cheating. He posted bail reported Thairath.

A twenty six year old tutor also presented himself to police with his lawyer after being called in. He denied the charges of cheating too, posted bail and refused to answer any questions.

Earlier in the month a 39 year old Nonthaburi woman denied any wrongdoing.

The charges relate to the discovery of cheating at Rangsit University in entrance exams for courses involving doctors, dental practitioners and pharmacists.

Police have so far requested meetings with five people with the three mentioned already denying involvement. Two more that are wanted have failed to show up and police said that arrest warrants will be issued if they fail to comply with requests for interview.

What??? A Thai lying about cheating in order to get ahead and save face? I'm shocked. Who woulda Thunk?

If Daddy has enough money, he might be diagnosing and treating you in a few years.

Do you know what they call a totally unqualified and incompetent nitwit who buys his way through Med School? "Doctor"

Lets face it, most of us would be amazed if any professional who gained their qualifications in Thailand were to be competent. Always go for the overseas certificated ones.

'The student, aged 19, reported to Pak Klong Rangsit police with a lawyer to admit that he was wearing the high tech specs on the day of the entrance exam but didn't think it was a big deal.' Was that a serious comment? I thought a basic qualification for a student attending university would be some level of intelligence

unfortunately a basic level of intelligence is not compulsory in Thai universities much the same as having a set of scruples to live by or a moral compass are also not needed in order to succeed in Thailand, all you actually need is a rich daddy or the right name....

medieval mindset for a backward society and I don't think anything will change any time soon..

Thai culture, deny, deny, deny or pay your way out of it.

Same in every country all the way up to presidents and prime ministers.

Absolute rubbish, many thai's make an art-form of hypocrisy and denial and have taken it to the next level, it's a pity it is such a negative attribute as they are undoubtably up there with the best....
