In the French movie "Pattaya," yet another foreigner is surprised to discover that the sexy girl he has his eyes on is a man — the most predictable joke when making a movie set in Thailand.

After the movie proved somewhat successful in its homeland, Pattaya is coming to Thai cinemas in July. The teaser, with Thai subtitles, was released this week.

Directed by Franck Gastambide, Pattaya drew USD14.4 million and became this year’s second best opening for a French-language film so far, according to Variety.

Was launched here with great publicity. I went to watch it based on the name.

It's terrible. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Pathetic, vulgar and not even funny at all which is kind of a problem for a comedy.

A long, long way from "Hangover" (even the sequels that weren't as good as the first one)

Side note: "Hangover" was released here under the "french" title... "Very bad trip". Go figure.

Nice stage dive.

Yet another masterpiece.

Who cares its French coffee1.gif

A French movie ? No thanks, I go watch a ladyboy show instead.
