xerostar
Wrong headline again. It wasn't the cement truck. It was the useless driver that killed these poor people. RIP to the family.

Siamwhiteelephant
No indication given why he didn't stay at the scene of the accident. A heavy vehicle driver may not notice a minor side impact collision, but could they possibly not notice one involving running over a motorcycle and victims? I wouldn't think so. We don't know for sure if he did a runner, but, when a driver can, doing a runner seems to be the norm in this country. I wonder what the ratio is of runners who do so to sober up a few hours and those who do so in an attempt to evade being identified and detained by police. ALFREDO
Yep,4 up on a bike a recipe for disaster. Any given day on Patthanakarn Rd _DSC0177 (Large).jpg 4 on a bike, its just another tragedy,10yr.old,4yr,and 3yrs.what scars will the brother carry seeing his 2sisters killed.Plus mother That there where 1 adult, one half grown and 2 small children on the bike, made the disaster and death toll high, but I would think, the accident would have also happened with only one or two people on the bike. As it sounds, the Cement truck driver overlooked the motor bike and is responsible. No reason now, to criticize the number of adults or children on the motorcycle, who were not to blame for the accident.
meatboy
who is to blame we dont know.a big cement lorry wouldnt see a bike coming up the inside of it.when we all know bike's like to weave in and out between vehicle's. just watch these bikes in the mornings 7-9am during the school run.i witnesed this very thing on thursday at 7.30am going for a hospital appoitment mayhem. never mind if you indicate left or right they will pass you. so please dont attache any blame till the facts are known if thats possible. Katipo
At least the truck driver made his delivery before handing himself in. It would be terrible if anyone was inconvenienced by this senseless tragedy. Seriously though, he obviously knew he had hit them. What was he thinking? "Damn, I just ran over 4 people, killing 3 of them. But I'd better finish this delivery or my Boss will be angry and I'll lose my job".

"The mother and her three children were riding a Honda Dream in the far left hand lane. Witnesses said a cement mixer unsighted by a truck trailer turned in and crushed the mum and her daughters." From that I understand, - The truck driver overlooked the moto which was driving on the left hand lane, he turned in left at intersection, with or without turning lights and cut them off drove over them. The truck driver, turning left, has to have the oversight and look beforehand, if there are pedestrians, bikers or slow motor bikers on the left hand side of him, who could come in his way turning left. Its very common that the slowest drive on the emergency lane, hard shoulder, so he has to keep that in mind. Not just turn in without looking and thinking! I believe with 4 on the bike the mother was not speeding, so a good chance, first the truck driver passed by the motorbike, or was driving side by side - he had to see them before, but forget to take care and just drove left! Many times I have to drive also with foresight when I turn in to the left at Gasoline stations or Shopping Centers, that I not cut off other 2 or 3 wheelers. I usually slow down and let the pass my turning intersection into the car park first.
