..so sad, so pathetic. and right in plain view.

why did it take so long?

Especially sad for sucker tourists...who believed this was a sacred, religious thing....a special place for animals and humans to coexist.

Instead....drugged tigers and a highly profitable trade of protected species on international markets.

With China being the main consumer.

What in the ell is the matter with Asian people. They still believe in goofy traditions about bear paws, tiger penis and such. Witchcraft?

Evil? or just Dumb?

Just dumb and superstitious - despite the overwhelming proof of Western medicine some still don't "believe" in it.

But Westerners can be just as dumb - the tiger sanctuary in point, not to mention idiot women going off to Indian ashrams to receive "healing full body massages" from "gurus"... yeah right!

Paying some horny man to touch them up and call it a spiritual experience... call it what it is.

I have heard of one tiger product that is both ecologically sound and application effective. Tiger turds, the fresher the better, are apparently a great deterrent of tracker dogs hot on your trail. Drop a piece on your path, and the dogs suddenly lose all interest in that direction.

watch this space cos someone will make a business out of that idea, just like selling cans of air to the chinese, the mind boggles.

Australians do this already selling air from various parts of Australia

in spray cans to China the price was about $ 14 per can

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif Of course, obtaining a fresh one could prove a tad problematic when you really need one. cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

They believe in whatever they are are told and taught not to think for themselves or question those in power. They are the product of the education system the military and hiso exactly want.

What a load of BS, the use of animal products proceeds Thailand by a few thousand years, so absolutely SFA to do with the education system, military and hiso. Do everyone a favour and keep your nonsense posts to yourself.

Actually he is spot on. It is the Thai educational system that has kept most Thais hundreds of years behind the times and unable to actually think and reason. And THAT is the way the Thai Elite want it.

The reason it took so long is that they were paying people to look the other way.

Well now that this cess pit has been exposed and shut down (hopefully), what about all the 'officials' that helped to facilitate this operation? None of this happened without officials being involved to at least look the other way. A full investigation of all officials who had any kind of contact or jurisdiction over this 'temple'. needs to take place.

But, of course, we know that will not happen, and Prayut will only issue words, not actions. Far too many vested interests.

Thailand, truely a land of shame.

What The hell is wrong with these Asian people believing in goofy traditions and witchcraft ?

Well it's Sunday and millions around the world are having a feed of human flesh and blood from the great sky wizard so traditions and superstitions aren't just restricted to Asians .

Hopefully in about 50 years or so most young people will treat religion as illogical nonsense of the past. Like how we don't believe in stoning as punishment anymore. Oh wait...

I can verify the fact that tiger turd has a distinctive odour ! So I can imagine that tracker dogs would lose interest not so much as to source butas to overload of sensory capacity!cheesy.gif

And apart from the wealthier neighborhoods in the US that can add financial incentives by local donors to attract the cream of the crop, most US public education, with few notable exceptions, is a sea of mediocrity sponsored by the corporate masters who now control the universities including the teacher training colleges. Proof is in the pudding as the masses accepted yet another crop of mediocre candidates for the presidency from poor semi-rural states with exceptionally poor educational outcomes such as Texas and Florida. But yes, the Thai public education is actually worse, but not unique. There is an interesting and easy read comparing various education systems in the industrialized world, Amanda Ripley's 'The Smartest Kids in the World: And How They Got That Way" that compares the experiences of exchange students.

Maybe they should now be looking at other places that use tigers as tourist bait like the chiangmai night safari where they breed tigers to be hugged and have thier photos taken with tourists. The temple isn't the only place into the tiger business. I doubt that others will be fully investigated as this would be extremely bad for the Thai face. I bet prayuth has already told all the other places to lay low until this dies down on the international stage.

Lack of education, but from my experience, the Thai's are 'special' when it comes to silly superstitious stuff. The story that really amazed me was the guy who had an epileptic attack while traveling home from work with colleagues, they chucked him out of the car and drove off and left him to die because they thought he was possessed. Amazing Thailand.
