Restaurant owner in Bali so he's obviously been around SEA long enough to know the ramifications of being caught smuggling drugs so absolutely zero sympathy for him.

Hard to believe a 40 year restaurant owner is a drug mule unless he's just a front for someone.

He's not a drug mule.

As the owner of a restaurant he sales drugs to the customers (predominantly tourists) patronizing his restaurant when they want a snort. The drugs are not kept on the premises, they are stashed somewhere and a runner is sent to get the amount the customer wants to buy and bring it back to the restaurant. Simple isn't it and it doesn't take an observant person long to figure out what is going on, but the BIB don't seem to get it. Or are they receiving a percentage?

No different than the foreigners in Thailand with restaurants. I don't mean ALL, but there are enough to keep the drug trade with all its hanger-on (real estate, car dealer to name but two) rolling along.

LOL in LOS

This thread has come a long way. Bloke caught with half a kilo of powder and now read his autobiography.

Here's my take. Chapter 2.

He's been stitched up and to get a reduced jail sentence he sells all he owns and gives it to the bib.

He would have been buying here to back for sale in Bali to his customers,

The story of being a courier for 60,00 baht is just to steer away from the dealer sentence,

Which for a block of Coke like that would be significant .. Game over.

However, he pleads guilty to being a courier....game still over but he will get out alive.

He is in a difficult spot at the moment and sipping cocktails in the Bali restaurant will not be happening

anytime soon......If he got it back....he would have made healthy profits....

Game over

Wasting his life for 60,000 THB... Has drug trafficking become this cheap already? 500g cocaine isn't a small amount.

It's a lot cheaper in America. Even cheaper in Mexico. And way cheaper in Columbia.

Leave the drug smuggling to the upper-class Mexicans, alright.

It "seems" that those who knowingly run the drugs seemingly think that they will not be in any trouble with the authorities as they can always say:

"Honestly, the package is not mine".....

As if that will convince the authorities to believe them and release them.

As for those that plant the drugs on unsuspecting people It would be really satisfying if the police made a serious effort to track those people down and apprehend them and imprison those people for a long, long time.

Meantime the British Man was obviously associating himself with the WRONG people.

Seriously....if you ever meet people that are into the recreational drugs and buying and selling recreational drugs and trying to make a business out of illegal drugs then do the smart thing and stay away from them...as in, a long way away from them.....or report them to the authorities and stop them from dragging other people into their nefarious drug dealing activities.

Cheers
