As well as the fairly large number of incorrect decisions being made at overseas posts coupled with the fact that a number of these decisions are not corrected, the most worrying thing for me is the fact that AR reviewers don't seem to provide feedback to the decision makers when their incorrect decisions are identified.

In terms of the learning from ARs, there was no systematic feedback to original decision makers from overseas and at the border reviewers

This is a point I've mentioned before, surely it makes sense for ECO's performance to be discussed with managers at the annual report stage to enable them to improve their performance.

Sadly much of the report refers to non-settlement visas but the review process covers settlement as well. I understand review of these has been moved to the UK then back to the ECM in the applicants country for a final decision.

The inaccuracies, including failure to take note of bank statements does not seem to be unique to Thailand. The Admin Review staff apparently do not have access to the original application paperwork and one case found Islamabad confirming one statement when it was found to be three as stated by the appellant! Eventually the applicant got the visa.

The reviewers were also unaware of the points system they were reviewing!

The Home office seem to have accepted pretty much all of the findings and hopefully things may improve!

Clearly not of interest for many ThaiVisa members but important for those that ask for review. Bedtime reading for the insomniacs as a bonus!
