Kasetsart University organizes activity to promote safety of food contact materials

BANGKOK, 14 June 2016 (NNT) - Kasetsart University (KU), the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards (ACFS) and the European Union (EU) delegation to Thailand organized activity to promote a better understanding on the safety of food contact materials and how to meet EU’s requirements for Thai entrepreneurs, exporters and academics.


Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanabool Satjaanantakul, the dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, KU, Sanchai Tantayaphon, the ACFS assistant, and Patrick Deboyser, head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Thailand, jointly presided over the opening ceremony for the activity to promote and disseminate a better understanding on the safety of food contact materials and how to meet the EU’s requirements for entrepreneurs in various industries, exporters and academics.

The event was aimed to help the Thai and ASEAN entrepreneurs receive updated information and use the opportunity to discuss the laws related to food contact materials, research findings and regulations.

The event was attended by 80 people including representatives from the packaging industry, food industry, food service business, researchers and government officials from Thailand and other ASEAN countries.
