Hello TV people

I know this topic has been covered many a times but I need some suggestions as I'm applying for a visa based upon marriage tomorrow. I recently called the immigration helpline & they told me for the following documents

Passport & copy of passport

Passport size photographs

Marriage certificate

Tabien Baan of wife

Wife's ID card

Bank statement of 400k

Wedding photographs

Photographs in front of the residence

A map

Now the question I'd like to ask here is that are the wedding photographs a must because me & the Mrs haven't had the ceremony up till now & we're not planning to have one just yet..( timing not fit for a ceremony due to work) so would this be an issue ?

Secondly the 400k statement should be on the date of applying or can it be a day earlier? Cause I'm planning to go to the immigration early in the morning rather than going to the bank first & visiting the immigration in the afternoon..

Any suggestions for this process would be much appreciated..

Regards

1. You are not applying for a Visa. It is an extension of stay.

2. I have never supplied wedding photos , and I don't think many have.

3. You need a letter from your bank dated on the day or the day before.

4. You also need a Kor Ror 2 Document. You should have been given one along with your wedding certificate.

If not get a copy at the amphur,

5. Your Wife will have to go with you to fill in paperwork.

6. Money in the bank for 2 months.

You will get a 30 day under consideration stamp.

Go back in a month to get the full stamp.

The bank letter will be accepted up to 3 days old at most immigration offices. You need a new KR 2 every year, cost is 20 baht at your amphor. You will be given a 30 day under consideration during which time immigration ill come to your residence and interview you and the wife along with witness. Make sure that your bank book showing the 400K is updated when you get your letter and that is shows some activity such as a small deposit or withdraw, do not go below 400k.

Where will you be applying for the extension based upon marriage?

Unless you are applying in Bangkok you will need 2 completed TM7 forms with supporting document attached to each one.

Here is a general list of requirements.

Unless you are applying at Bangkok you will need 2 sets of copies attached to 2 TM7 application.forms.

Proof of 400k baht in the bank for 2 months by way of a letter from your bank and your bank book.or 40k baht income.proven by a income letter from your embassy.

Copies of your passport photo page and every page that has any stamp or visa for Thailand on it. Copy of TM6 departure card.

Marriage certificate and a updated Kor Ror 2 marriage registry (Kor Ror 22 for foreign marriages)

Copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card.

Photos of you and your wife in and around the house. One must show you both with the house number shown in it. The number of photos needed varies by office.

Map to your residence from the nearest main road or street.

Proof of residence if not living where your wife's house book is for.

Some offices may want witnesses when you apply.

Applying for a 90 day non immigrant visa entry is different.

If on a tourist visa you will use a TM86 form or if on a visa exempt entry a TM87 form. You can download them here: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=download

They will also want a copy of the affirmation of permit to marry you used when you registered your marriage.

Yes ubon Joe currently I'm on a tourist visa..I'm planning to take all the documents first to get them checked by the immigration officer & if everything's in order then tomorrow me & the wife can go together
