Jonathan Fairfield
Grassed over grass - Thai man looks glum in front of a ton of ganja Image: Krobkraukao BUNG KAN:-- Nirut Khodamee, 36, looks miserable as he was pictured in front of a cargo he was paid to deliver from Bung Karn province in the north east of Thailand to Ayuthaya. He was caught with more than 1000 kilos of compressed marijuana he had picked up from a boat on the Mekhong River. Police had heard about a delivery from Laos and had laid in wait near the border before searching Nirut's Bangkok registered Isuzu pick-up. They didn't need to search much - in 28 sacks was 1,101 kilos of weed, reported Channel 3. Joining in the photo opportunity Thursday morning was Bung Kan governor Pongsak Preechawit. Apparently it had taken ten men to unload the drugs from the fishing boat in Bung Khla district and transfer to the pick up. Nirut told police he was paid 30,000 baht to drive to Ayuthaya and meet someone who would then take over. The drugs have a street value of 22 million baht. shirtless
Thailand needs to join the real world on weed, tax it and it will be just as good or even better for you than alcohol,
thaiguzzi
Street value of 22 mil... In Laos cities and larger towns, that's worth about 440k, out in the sticks and villages about a 100k... Nice mark up.
