PM to visit Rayong, check up on U Tapao airport expansion

BANGKOK, 22 June 2016 (NNT) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will travel to Rayong to follow up on the progress of a project to develop the U Tapao airport as a commercial airport. The premier will also inspect newly-constructed structures built to protect the Phayun beach from erosion.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Col. Thaksada Sangkhachan said the PM and his entourage were scheduled to visit Rayong on 22 June to inspect the U Tapao airport development project. The project is aimed at enhancing the airport's capacity to accommodate passengers and growth of the aviation industry in the future. A new terminal is being constructed.

Gen. Prayut will then travel to the Chuk Samet port before meeting with representatives of the local people at the Ban Chang municipality in Ban Chang district.
